The Acorn: Philosophical Studies in Pacifism and Nonviolence is a peer-reviewed, scholarly journal devoted to the philosophical examination of the theory and practice of activism, nonviolence, organizing, pacifism, protest, people power, and resistance, especially as it relates to models such as M. K. Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Jr., Cesar Chavez, and Jane Addams.  Established in 1986 by Ha Poong Kim and edited for many years by Barry L. Gan, it is now published with the support of Texas State University.
