The Idea of Values

Ideas Underlying Global Problems Series, Volume 4

William L. McBride, Editor

Talk about values is incessant in the globalized world of this new millennium, but what does this concept mean? Does it have the same meaning across cultures and epochs? And what is, or may be, the future of values? These issues are addressed in this volume by philosophers from Germany, Greece, India, Russia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States. This work was prepared under the auspices of the International Federation of Philosophical Societies on the occasion of the Twenty-first World Congress of Philosophy (2003). It was published by the Philosophy Documentation Center with the support of the International Council of Philosophy and Humanistic Studies (UNESCO).
