Civil War History is the leading scholarly journal of the Civil War era in American history. It covers the entire scope of the conflict, from the genesis of the sectional crisis through Reconstruction and beyond, highlighting the ramifications of the war on society. Its topics include slavery and abolition, antebellum and Reconstruction politics, diplomacy, social and cultural developments in mid–nineteenth century America, and military history. This journal is published quarterly in March, June, September, and December issues by The Kent State University Press.
