Philosophy and History

German Studies, Section I

Jürgen H. Hohnholz, Editor

Philosophy and History published English reviews of German research in philosophy, history, and related fields. It was established in 1968 as part of the German Studies series that provided current surveys of German research publications. This Series consisted of four sections:

  • Philosophy and History, Section I
  • Modern Law and Society, Section II
  • Literature, Music, Fine Arts, Section III
  • Mundus, Section IV
  • The purpose of these surveys was to introduce German scholarship to an international readership through the English language. Philosophy and History was edited by the Institute for Scientific Cooperation in Tübingen, and it ceased publication in 1991. The complete archive is available here online.
